The unruly 1990s, with their youthful rebellion expressed in layered, careless designs, inspired HOUSE designers to create the autumn collection, which draws heavily on the grunge look.

In the coming season HOUSE has decided to take advantage of the trend inspired by the 1990s with their unruly, rock style once represented by Curt Cobain and Courtney Love. Today’s grunge is only seemingly careless and badly fitted but it is still comfortable and just ideal for the autumn with layers in place to make sure that you won’t get cold; that additional shirt tied round your waist , especially, is an extra asset of this style. Also in the ladies’ autumn collection the designers recall this returning trend and take advantage of its most popular elements, restyling it for 2014.

The basis of any successful grunge styling is a check shirt and torn jeans. Additionally the brand offers T-shirts with rebellious prints, pencil check shirts and denim slim-cut trousers dyed in unusual colours such as yellow and fuchsia, which are stronger accents in a collection dominated by black, white, greys and red.

Grunge was always based on contrast and combining seemingly unmatched colours and patterns. HOUSE has also focused on contrast, and the use of textiles with distinct textures and patterns. In addition the style of grunge clothing is emphasized by asymmetry and noticeable rock accents such as exposed zips.

The collection is complemented by warm sweatshirts and autumn jackets: parka jackets with ecological leather sleeves, biker jackets and quilted coats with hoods for those colder days.
